Australian privacy obligations can depend on things like a business's annual turnover and the activities it carries out. We're confirming exactly which requirements apply to StayBliss, and this page will be updated to reflect that. Whatever the outcome, we handle your information carefully and only in the ways described below.

What we collect

What might we know about you?

Only what you give us, and what a website ordinarily generates. Here's the full list, grouped by why it exists.

Identity + contact

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number, if you give it to us
  • Delivery and billing address, when you place an order

Order information

Collected when you shop with us, once our store is live.

  • Products purchased
  • Order number and order history
  • Fulfilment and delivery information

Account + membership

  • Customer account details
  • Membership status
  • Bliss Vault access status

Party enquiries

Only what you choose to tell us when you enquire about a StayBliss Party.

  • Preferred event date
  • Suburb and state
  • Estimated guest numbers
  • The occasion
  • Any notes you choose to add

Virtual Shopping

  • Your contact details
  • Appointment preferences
  • Any shopping context you choose to share

Product + order support

  • Product name
  • Order number
  • The messages you send us

Marketing

  • Your email marketing preferences
  • Whether you've opted in, and when

Only if you choose to opt in.

Technical

Standard information generated when you use a website.

  • IP address
  • Browser and device information
  • Essential cookie information
  • Basic interaction information, such as pages requested

We only collect what we genuinely need for the thing you've asked us to do. If a field on one of our forms is optional, you can leave it blank.

Personal + intimate detail

A note on personal detail.

Because of what we sell, some of what a customer might tell us could relate to intimate personal matters. We don't treat that as ordinary shopping data.

  • Please only give us the information reasonably necessary for your enquiry, order or appointment.
  • We don't ask you to submit intimate, medical or highly personal detail through our website forms, and you shouldn't.
  • Free-text fields on our forms are optional. Share only what you're comfortable sharing.
  • If you'd rather discuss something privately, a Virtual Shopping appointment or a direct email is a better place than a website form.

Where information a customer chooses to give us may fall into a more protected category under applicable Australian privacy law, our handling of it is being reviewed against those requirements before this policy is finalised. We'd rather tell you that plainly than write something we can't stand behind.

How we collect it

How does it get here?

Almost always directly from you. These are the channels we actually use.

  • Forms on this website, including enquiry and signup forms
  • Checkout and orders, once our store is live
  • Customer accounts
  • Membership and Bliss Vault registration
  • Virtual Shopping enquiries
  • Party enquiries
  • Customer support conversations
  • Email you send us directly
  • Marketing signup, where you opt in
  • Essential cookies and standard server logs when you browse the site

We may also receive information from providers who help us run StayBliss — for example, a delivery partner confirming that your parcel arrived.

Why we use it

Why do we need it?

Each purpose below connects to something you've asked us for, something we're required to do, or keeping the business and our customers safe.

  • Provide the products and services you ask us for
  • Process and fulfil your orders
  • Communicate with you about your order
  • Respond to your enquiries
  • Organise and run StayBliss Parties and Virtual Shopping appointments
  • Manage customer accounts
  • Manage membership and Bliss Vault access
  • Provide product and order support
  • Issue approved store credit under the 30-Day Pleasure Guarantee
  • Protect our site and customers from fraud, spam and abuse
  • Understand and improve how our website and service perform
  • Send marketing communications where you've given us permission
  • Meet obligations that apply to us under applicable law

We don't use your information for unrelated purposes, and we don't sell your personal information.

Marketing

The fun emails.
Only if you want them.

Buying something, booking a party or asking us a question is not the same as asking for marketing.

  • Marketing consent is separate. Our forms use optional marketing checkboxes, and we never pre-tick them.
  • An enquiry, order, membership or support request on its own doesn't add you to our marketing list.
  • Every marketing email includes a clear way to unsubscribe, and you can also just email us and ask.
  • Unsubscribing from marketing doesn't stop essential messages about an order or booking you've made.

Marketing provider

Being confirmed

We'll name the email marketing platform we use here as soon as it's connected. No marketing platform is receiving your details before then.

Accounts

Shopify, accounts
+ the Vault.

Our shopping experience is built on Shopify, and The Bliss Vault sits behind a members-only check.

Shopify is intended to handle our core ecommerce functions — products, orders, checkout, customer accounts and membership-related commerce information where configured. When you create an account or place an order, that information is held in that platform as part of running our store. This integration is still being connected, and we'll update this page as it goes live.

Access to The Bliss Vault is checked on our server, not in your browser. Your device never decides whether you're a member — that's confirmed on our side each time. We don't publish the technical detail of those checks, because doing so would only help people trying to get around them.

Payments

Payment information.

Payments are processed through the payment methods configured in our Shopify checkout.

StayBliss does not store your full card number or payment credentials. When you pay, your payment details are handled by the payment provider processing that transaction. We receive confirmation of the payment and the order information we need to fulfil it.

Payment providers

Being confirmed

Our final payment methods are being confirmed. Once they're live, we'll list them here so you know exactly who handles your payment, and you'll always see the available options at checkout before you pay.

Cookies + analytics

Cookies.
The boring kind.

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Here's the honest state of ours.

Essential

In use

Needed for the site to work — things like keeping you signed in, remembering your cart and keeping forms secure. These can't be turned off without breaking the site.

Functional

In use

Remember preferences so the site behaves the way you left it. Used only where a feature genuinely needs it.

Analytics

Not in use

Would help us understand how the site is used. We haven't connected an analytics tool yet. If we do, we'll update this page and give you a way to make a choice about it first.

Advertising + marketing

Not in use

Would support advertising measurement or audiences. No advertising or social tracking tools are connected to this website. If that changes, this page will be updated to describe them accurately, and consent for non-essential tracking will be asked for separately.

You can manage or clear cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working properly.

If we add analytics or advertising tools

Being confirmed

We'll describe each tool accurately on this page, and we won't bundle consent for non-essential tracking into general use of the site.

Disclosure

Who helps us run things?

We share personal information only where it's needed to run StayBliss, and only with the categories of provider below.

  • Service providers who help us run StayBliss, and only so they can do that work
  • Payment providers, to process your payment
  • Delivery partners, to get your order to you
  • Professional advisers, where we genuinely need advice
  • Anyone we're required or authorised to disclose to under applicable law

Providers who handle information for us are expected to use it only for the service they provide to StayBliss. We name specific providers on this page once they're actually connected, rather than listing services we don't use.

Overseas providers

Does data leave Australia?

We're not going to guess at this one.

StayBliss is Australian owned and operated, with our HQ in Surry Hills and warehousing in NSW. Many of the platforms modern businesses rely on — ecommerce, hosting, email — are global services that may store or process information outside Australia.

Being confirmed

We're currently reviewing each of our providers to confirm where information is stored and processed. Until that review is complete, we won't claim your information stays only in Australia, and we won't list countries we haven't verified. This section will be updated with the confirmed position.

Security

Keeping things safe.

Practical measures, described honestly.

  • Requests and form submissions are validated on the server, not just in your browser
  • Access to customer information is restricted to people who need it to do their job
  • Rate limiting and spam protections on public forms
  • Authentication and membership checks are performed server-side
  • Encrypted connections between your browser and our site

We take protecting your information seriously and use reasonable technical and organisational measures to do it. No website or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. If you're ever concerned about the security of your information, contact us.

Your information

Want to see
or fix something?

If you'd like to request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you, contact us and we'll handle the request in accordance with applicable law.

Email hello@staybliss.com.au or use our contact page. It helps if you tell us what you're after — for example, your order details or the enquiry you're asking about. We may need to confirm who you are before we share information with you.

You can also ask us to delete information we hold about you. We'll work through the request with you, keeping in mind that some records need to be retained for legal, tax or legitimate business record-keeping reasons. We won't promise to erase something we're required to keep.

Retention

How long do we keep it?

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and for as long as we're required to keep it under applicable law. Different records have different requirements — for example, order and tax records generally need to be kept longer than a one-off enquiry. Our published retention periods for each category are still being confirmed.

Categories we're setting periods for

  • Customer and order records
  • Party and Virtual Shopping enquiries
  • Membership records
  • Support conversations
  • Marketing preferences and consent records
  • Security and anti-spam records

Being confirmed

Our confirmed retention period for each category will be published here. Rather than publish one blanket number that wouldn't be true for every record, we're setting them properly.

Age

Age + our products.

StayBliss sells adult intimate products. Our website is intended for adults.

We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@staybliss.com.au and we'll look into it.

Being confirmed

Our formal age policy and the controls that support it are being finalised alongside our store launch, and this section will be updated to describe exactly what applies.

Policy updates

If this changes.

We'll update this page when our practices, providers or obligations change — and we'd rather update it than leave something inaccurate here.

Any updated version applies from the date it's published on this page. Where a change is significant, we'll make that clear.

Privacy questions

Got a privacy question?

Ask us. A real person reads it.

Email hello@staybliss.com.au or use our contact page and tell us what's on your mind. We'll review any privacy question or complaint and respond appropriately.

If we haven't resolved something to your satisfaction, let us know — we'd like the chance to put it right. Where external complaint options apply to us, we'll set them out here once our privacy obligations have been confirmed.
